Our Garden

When Mike bought the house many years ago part of the back yard was sectioned off and had a swing set and wood chips. Mike removed the swing set when he bought the home and over the years the wood chips have composted in with the dirt. Mike and I worked to reclaim the area from the weeds and a large bush.

We planted a garden at the beginning of June....

We have been enjoying zucchini, letteus, lemon cucumbers, green onions, broccoli, and yellow squash from the garden. Last weekend I made some homemade bread with the Zucchini.

...and Baby Makes Three

Mike and I are happy to announce that we are are expecting our first child. We found out a few months ago and we are so excited. Mike has already starting cleaning out his "CB room" to make way for the nursery. Of course our parents are very excited as well, this will be my parents' first grandchild and Mike's mom's second grandchild.

The first few months were quite an adjustment. No more spending long days at work as I was not feeling well and I was exhausted all the time. I had a lot of morning (afternoon & evening) sickness. I am so lucky to be working from home. Now that we are into the fourth month, I am getting my energy back and feeling much better.

We had our first ultrasound at the end of May and our due date is December 31st. We are going to have a second ultrasound in a few weeks and will know if our new addition will be a boy or a girl, though Mike is sure we are having a boy. Boy or Girl we couldn't be happier with our new addition to the family. :)

Our New Home

Since we have moved back to Humboldt in January time is just flying by. I can't believe that we have been back 5 months already. We are still just getting around to doing some of our favorite Humboldt county things like walks on the beach at Moonstone, breakfast on Saturday at Los Bagels, and coffee in Old Town. It has been great to spend much more time with our families and see old friends. We are also having a lot of fun working on our home. Having been renters for so long, it is nice to be able to put a personal touch on our home. We have big plans....
