Taste of Morgan Hill Arts & Wine Festival

September 27, 2008 - Mike heard about the annual Taste of Morgan Hill Arts & Wine Festival and we decided to go check it out. Morgan Hill is about 45 minutes south of where we live. It was a warm and sunny day, almost too hot. We had some good food and had a fun time looking at the booths and art. There was even a doggie fashion show that we got to see the tail end of.

After the festival we decided to walk over and check out the local Farmer's Market. Along the way we found Jesus........or at least his Mexican restaurant. While we were standing outside looking at the sign, an older gentleman walked by and told us that this was the best Mexican food in Morgan Hill. So next time we go there we might have to try it out.

Sunday Drive Last Weekend

Last weekend Mike and I took a short drive and this is the view from about 10 miles west of our house. From the top of the ridge you can see the Bay on one side and the ocean on the other. It was a great drive along the top of of the ridge (Hwy 35) that took us down towards Cupertino (east of San Jose). We found a couple of possible places to go camping or hiking along the way. It's nice to know we can get away from the traffic and crowds so close to home.

Maroon 5 & Counting Crows Concert

September 18, 2008 - A perk of living 15 miles for Shoreline Amphitheater is being able to go to a concert on a Wednesday night. We were able to get some cheap last minute tickets for a concert that night. Mike picked me up from work and we got there just in time to grab a bite to eat, find our seats, and hear the opening act Augustana. Then it was Maroon 5, a group that I have liked for years and Mike is beginning to tolerate. Then Counting Crows finished the show. They started off with "Round Here", a song we both know well.

Shoreline Amphitheater is an outdoor theater in Mountain View and it was a nice warm fall evening to sit outside and listen to some music together. We were both surprised, but all of the bands sounded great live and it was a lot of fun to see a concert like this.

SF Zoo

July 19, 2008 - We spent Saturday at the zoo. I had not been to the Zoo since I was a kid and Mike had never been to a zoo outside of Eureka. It was a cold and fog day. We had a great time looking at all of the different animals. Most of them were in kind of natural surroundings, some were not. There was a sea lion in a very boring and sad cement area. The sea lion was just laying in the pool and a little kid asks "what's he doing?" Mike leans over and says "Trying to drowned himself." The people standing next to us heard what Mike said and went from shock to laughter.

We went to the kids petting zoo and had a great time feeding the mini goats.

4th of July

We spent 4th of July in San Fran. There was a street fair on Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. We spent the day just hanging out. We found the Musee Mecanique. It is a collection of classic mechanically operated musical instruments, antique arcade and classic video games. All of the games work and you can play a game of Pong for $0.25.

The fog came in just before the fireworks and we got to see the fog light up. We left quickly and beat all of the traffic and got to see fireworks the entire way home.

Take Us Out to the Ball Game

June 13, 2008 - My brother Isaac (in the middle) put together a day at the ball park for us with my other brother Decan and our cousin Rick (on the right). We got to see the Giants lose again. Mike and I got to see a game in May with free tickets from my office.

The Honeymoon

Our Honeymoon was a wonderful trip. We took a seven day cruise from LA to 3 cities in Mexico. The cruise ship was relaxing, the food was great, and we had a great room with a balcony that provided amazing views like this.

We played a round of mini golf on the top of the ship.

This is us on the pier in Cabo our last stop in Mexico.
